What is the difference between a member and a supporter?

Both are registered artists/bands on this website but members have a higher level of commitment to the goals and values of the Unsigned Coalition, while supporters agree to a certain extent to them.

For example, members agree not to place their music in full on streaming services, while supporters might chose to do it, but agree that they will not promote these links.

What is the difference between a recommended and an approved partner?

Both are registered partners on this website, but recommended partners have a higher level of commitment to the goals and values of the Unsigned Coalition, while approved partners agree to a certain extent to them.

For example, recommended shows are affiliated (directly or indirectly) to a PRO and pay royalties either directly or via their streaming provider subscription, while approved partner are promoting unsigned music but are not (yet) affiliated because they are too small or have no revenue to pay these royalties. They both agree to some basic recommendations, like not asking or accepting pay per play for example.

How will you enforce that the members/supporters comply with your goals and values?

We want to stay reasonable in our demands, which are stated in the registration forms. We will not perform any thorough investigations, short of verifying the information supplied.

We will not be the police of our peers, however, if it comes to our knowledge that a member or supporter is no longer following the guidelines they have agreed upon registering we will contact them and see if they still want to be part of the Unsigned Coalition.

If they don’t comply anymore, for whatever reason, we will delete their account and they will no longer be part of our members/supporters list and their profile will no longer be available, nor the direct access to the partners of the Unsigned Coalition.

There will be no “wall of shame” or “public denunciation” of any kind, just a simple deletion from our website.
